Airi Hynninen Born in Helsinki, she danced with the Finnish National ballet in classical repertory
that included stagings by Leonid Larovsky, Harald Lander, Serge Lifar and Nicholas Beriosoff. She extended her
studies in Stockholm, Paris and New York, where she met Antony Tudor. While studying at The Juilliard School, Tudor
created a role for her in Sunflowers. She worked as his assistant on all his repertory for over 15 years at American
Ballet Theatre. She staged Tudor's ballets at Australian Ballet, the Royal Danish Ballet, Kirov Ballet, Paris Opera
Ballet and other companies throughout the world.
